worth noting.

About • my why
Hi friend, I'm Karen. I ramble so you feel less alone.
This blog started in 2012 on a wobbly kitchen table with a cold coffee and a colicky baby. Now it's a library of small stories about raising kids, loving a lived-in home, keeping friendships alive, and romanticizing the everyday.
I believe in slow Tuesdays, loud laughter, second chances and warm bread.
I'm not an expert. I'm a noticer. I write about what I live: marriage after 15 years, parenting teens and tweens, caring for aging parents, working from home, anxiety, faith, friendship, and the eternal laundry pile. If you've ever cried in a parking lot then laughed at dinner — you'll fit right in.
Weekly essays, book lists, home resets, travel diaries, seasonal bucket lists.
No hustle, no perfect morning routines, no shame. Just grace and giggles.
Library holds, sourdough, long walks, handwritten letters, early bedtimes.
Honest stories, practical ideas, always kind. Comment and I'll reply!

Everyday magic
My 5 tiny rituals that save my sanity
Not a 5am club. Just small anchors I return to when life feels loud. Steal them, tweak them, make them yours.
10 minutes, no filter. Coffee first, phone later. I dump worries so they don't follow me around.
Timer on, playlist loud. One room, one basket. Done is better than perfect.
20 minutes around the block. I notice 3 beautiful things. Instant therapy.
Twice a week. Epsom salt, chapter three, early lights out. Kids know: mom recharging.
I write 10 specific joys in my letter. Last week: burnt toast laugh, teen hug, library smell.
